Cannes was one of the ports on the cruise that I was
hands-down most excited for. Cannes has received most of its popularity over
the years for being the beautiful beachfront city that’s home to the Cannes
Film Festival.
Each year, thousands of people venture to Cannes for the
festival, which features A-list actors from all over the world. This year, the
festival ended literally one day before we arrived. So while I was disappointed
that we missed the full effect, the red carpets were still rolled out and
people were still on the lookout for any celebrities who hadn’t left yet
(especially Leo…).
We started the morning walking around the city and taking
photos at the landmarks, like the row of “Hollywood-like” handprints from past
stars. Then we boarded a mini train (yes, it’s as touristy as it sounds) that
took us through the main streets and up to the best lookout point in the city.
After a little bit of shopping and some more photo ops,
including in front of the world-famous InterContinental Carlton, we headed back
to the ship to end what seemed like a very short day.
